Community Service Foundation
In order to provide greater flexibility in funding and services, Middle Flint Behavioral Healthcare has established a non-profit community foundation. During its first full year of activity, the foundation has focused on fund-raising and public awareness activities. Numerous grant proposals and other funding requests have been submitted, and we are currently awaiting word on our success with some of these initial efforts. Our partners have included local school systems, health providers, and academic institutions.
The foundation seeks funding to promote the work of Middle Flint Behavioral Healthcare both through direct service dollars and through support for its infrastructure; e.g., facilities, transportation. Focus areas include:
- Development of community provider network
- Increased school-based services
- Development of long-distance learning and treatment; e.g., telemedicine
- Development of electronic medical record
- Increased supported housing opportunities
- Improved transportation.
- Increased public awareness and reduction of stigma.
How can you help support the work of our foundation? Following are just a few ways you can make a difference through your contribution:
- Contribute time. We plan to sponsor community fund-raising events in the future. If you have good organization abilities and would like to volunteer to help, let us know.
- Contribute ideas. Individuals and businesses throughout our communities have great ideas about how to increase awareness of our programs and engage others in supporting these services. Please share yours with us.
- Contribute influence. We are looking for community leaders! If you would be interested in serving on our Board, asking others to contribute to the foundation, or providing other leadership, your efforts are needed.
- Contribute funds. We always welcome direct donations to our foundation. Contact our business office if you would like to arrange to make a tax-deductible donation of either funds or goods.
